The Nimbus Data Gemini solid-state storage systems are a family of custom designed all Flash systems used for block storage. The current systems are the Gemini and the scale out system, which consists of Flash Directors and Flash Nodes. The current Gemini systems may operate as Flash Nodes and are connected via InfiniBand to a Flash Director. The all Nimbus Data systems use eMLC NAND Flash, in a custom SSD enclosure. The Gemini systems were designed for solid-state technology.
